I just took my Letter of Intent to homeschool (this is what we get in WA State when we let the school district know we are homeschooling our children), into our local B&N and they gave me a teacher discount card. :) It was pretty easy to do.

I would go into (or call) your local B&N and ask them what you need to bring in order to get the teacher discount card.

BTW, it isn't a homeschool discount card, just a teacher discount card that homeschoolers can get as well.

I think it depends on the store. At local B&N here in NJ I just ask. They've never asked for anything, of course I don't have much to show them either.
