If one is going on a "date" with dh to the sports bar? We're going to have dinner and watch a Canucks game. Jeans? A skirt? I don't want to be too overdressed but it is our first real "date" in awhile.
Suggestions?
We need a "what to wear" smiley.

what I have seen women wear in sports bars is rather tight jeans and a fairly dressy top with lots of makeup. PDC (public display of cleavage) is pretty normal and expected. Often high heels or boots. Not track shoes.

I would recommend the nicest outfit-that-works-with-jeans that you have but remember many men in bars assume women are advertising so be careful of your choices.

We need a "what to wear" smiley.I'd wear jeans or khakis. I get cold in restaurants, so I'd also bring along a jacket or sweater.

Something you don't mind someone else spilling stuff on (beer, chips, salsa, etc) :001_rolleyes:

Oh my goodness, Carol in Ca - I'm going to wear jeans, high heels, a shirt with lots of cleavage and a TON of makeup just to see dh's reaction. He'll die!
Actually, he'd probably love it. It's just so not me.

When I quickly glanced at this post title I somehow inverted the a and the r in bar.

Then I thought maybe it's just been a while since I've been out on a date. Who knows what crazy married folks are doing these days, right? :willy_nilly:
When DH and I go out... once every five years or so... I usually go the route of actually *doing* something with my hair, good bra (not a sports bra, though), and a flattering top. DH really likes me in faded jeans, so that's what I wear, even though they aren't my nicest pair.
Have a fantastic time!
