How do you use Art of Argument?

Do you read it together and discuss? Have your children read it independently and do exercises? What does a typical lesson look like?

At the beginning of my ds's senior year, I spent about two weeks doing a mini-workshop with this book. He would read a section, we would discuss it, and we would first try the exercises on my white board with me presiding. We would write out whatever was being discussed, and then my ds would try it on his own. After a while he just did the work himself without me presiding with a white board.

We read and discuss together. There are one paragraph essays that are written outside of class and read when we meet again. Our schedule is generally 3 days a week per chapter.
