My daughter would like to study European History using real books. Does anybody have any suggestions how I could get this or go about putting it together myself even (if need be)? This would be for high school level.

All of European history? Because that's a lot of history. Using literature contemporary for the time, using historical novels, using non-fiction books? Have you looked at the high school reading lists in TWTM? I would honestly start there.

If it's novels you want, you might look at

There look to be lots of bodice-rippers in them -- what a way to learn about history!
That aside, try this:

and WWII

My son did not use a textbook but he is a history buff and reads history for fun. There are definitely gaps in this plan. I would recommend The Western Tradition videos as a background spine. You could add more historical fiction than we did. Son is not that interested in fiction.
I think this can be done with an enthusiastic reader. Good luck.
