Italian for FL credit-Any curric. suggestions

My15 y/o ds wants to study Italian for his foreign language credits. He plans to major in music in college so Italian would be the best choice for him.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a high school level Italian curriculum?

He wants to study Italian for three years. He's not able to take a community college course until he's 16. So he wouldn't be able to until 2nd semester of 2010-2011. I heard somewhere that a 1 semester, cc course is equal to a year of high school. Is this true? If so, it wouldn't hurt him to wait until the 2nd semester of 2010-2011 to begin his studies.
