dfd15mths loves, loves, loves to color. She draws with a pencil or crayons or pen at least an hour a day. I have to supervise her with crayons the most because she seems to want to break and eat them.

I have considered getting her some different crayons, to give her some variety but don't know which ones are the worth the money. I've seen beeswax, soy and variations in between. I've seen chunky and triangles, cubes and logs.

Do you have a well loved suggestion?

Right now she has the fat, washable Crayolas.

I would skip beeswax crayons for a child who is already prone to putting them in her mouth -- the beeswax ones smell heavenly and make *me* want to eat them.

We use the Stockmar beeswax crayons. We have both the stick and the block crayons but the sticks get used the most. I catch my little niece chewing on them a lot so it is reassuring that they are all natural and non-toxic. Plus they are a great size and don't break as easily as the thinner crayons do.

I used the fat washable Crayolas too! They were easy for gripping.

That was before the triangles, however. I've heard they're even better for little hands, but I have no experience with them.

If you already have the fat Crayolas, there's no need to buy something different. ;)
