Specifically The Secret? It looks like an interesting read, is it? We are studying the Renaissance and the rise of humanism.
Thanks,

I read a review of it in a couple of magazines. The consensus in the magazines was that it wasn't worth the hype it was getting (specifically from Oprah). But I haven't read it so I have no personal opinion on whether the reviews were "right on" or not.

Oprah
I didn't realize she was promoting a book by the same title, this is different. It was written by the "father of the renaissance" in Italy (according to some), Francisco Petrarch. It is an imaginary dialog between Petrarch and Augustine of Hippo.

Ok, then it is a totally different work. I'm pretty sure it was a book called "The Secret" that she was promoting (I don't watch Oprah but it was a big deal in Time and Newsweek.) It was something mystical.
I did read Petrarch's "Lives" - do I get points for that?! ;)
