If you use this for High School...
What do you use with it?

DS used it last year (10th grade), but he didn't use anything "with" it. We used Spielvogel to pick up where it left off.
But... my son enjoyed it so much that he plans to read the second book as soon as it is released ( I pre-ordered it from Amazon).
Ds wrote twice weekly about a topic of his choice which he encountered in the reading.
This may not sound like much, but FWIW (I know that ps is not your standard :001_smile:) he learned and retained MUCH more than my dd who took Pre-AP World History last semester (10th grade).

we used spielvogel about 6 times during the year, otherwise it was pretty much just history of the ancient world.
my ds 15 and ds 13 used this book. they wrote down every ( nearly) date in the chapter and why it was important.
they also did 4 writing assignments using questions from spielvogel. we did 3 chapters from HOAW per week.

Many use it as a spine, reading the Great Books of the period at the same time. SWB recommends Spielvogel (and may recommend this book in WTM Ed 3, not sure...) be read alongside a Great Books study. Student uses it and Timelines of History to make a one page "content" page. (There's other writing with the GB, too.)

Oh! I forgot to mention that we did the great books as well.
