Truly, this is a very frustrating part of his (and dare I say it -- my character)! I know this: nagging didn't work for me and doesn't work for him, LOL. Using a timer doesn't work either.
I'm looking for inspiration, not discipline/punishment type ideas.
Thank you in advance!

I was going to post about how I've overcome my procrastinating, but I think I'll have to wait and do it tomorrow... :tongue_smilie:

Does he see this as a problem he wants to fix? Can you sit him down and ask him for one thing he wants to get done by tomorrow? or by next week? Have him write out a time-line for getting it done. I think this kind of thing works best (for all of us) when the person with the "problem" takes ownership of it. I would start by letting him pick goals that aren't necessary your goals. I think it is easier to learn how to get something done if it is kind of exciting instead of the mundane.
Once he's done a bit of this kind of goal setting and goal meeting, then maybe work at setting a goal at not procrastinating on one of those pesky daily mundane chores. Have him choose one daily chore or activity again and have him map out what is required to get it done in a timely fashion.

He is a "reasonable" kid and often responds to my voiced "concerns" for him and I've seen him take part in wanting to add character to his person before! So, I'm going to take your advice and solicit a goal from him to work toward. Mapping it out would be good, too. Thanks much, Jean.
