The Medieval Reader by Cantor: anything on par with this for Ren?

I loved The Medieval Reader by Cantor and would be thrilled to find something comparable for the Renaissance. Any suggestions?

Also, anyone read The Secret by Petrarch? Seems like it would be an interesting read, is it?

I did a search on Barnes & Noble, and found several books by Norman Cantor and his wife (I presume), Judy. This one was entitled: The Last Knight: The Twilight of the Middle Ages and the Birth of the Modern Era.

By the way, there were a number of other books, including one on ancient civilization, etc. This looks like a very good history series!
