Gaps? I found mine are crevasses.. though not wide, they are painfully deep. I've been reading too. One of my joys in homeschooling, to re-learn or just plan learn all that I did not get the first time around.

I recently ordered a copy too!
Finally!
I haven't started reading it yet though.
I want to before we start ancient history again this fall.
OK, "gaps" is probably an understatement. :D

I borrowed it from the library. I can't really shell out $ for books and all...
Anyhoo - wowee! I loved it! I read the first 2/3 in a flash. The last 1/3 took a wee bit longer because the history gets more complicated in and of itself. I paid attention during the first 2/3 though, and it made the last 1/3 make sense. So that's my advice.
I will buy this book when I get the chance. I happend to not agree with the traditional Egyptian dating and few other assertions she makes about the very ancient world, but it's a great book nonetheless.
Enjoy!

I recently acquired this book. I used to borrow it from the library. Then I would have overdue charges. The librarian was a bit terse when I brought it back (because there was a list of people who wanted to borrow it). Then my husband kept saying, "With all the overdue charges, you could have bought the book by now!" Something inside me just wants to take my new book to the library, have the librarian steal a sideways glance at me and watch her openly seeth. She will probably think I am trying to borrow the book again. Of course, I would have to casually allow the book to open so that she could see my personal book plate inside that has my name scrawled on the front endpiece. But, I am not that confrontational. And, my husband would probably never want to show his face in there again!
In the meantime, I will just enjoy my book. It will definately take me awhile to get through it!
Joyfully,
Mary

The most difficult part to get through to me was the beginning, but I have really been enjoying reading it along with what we are studying this year.

I'll be using it with my 9th grader in the fall as we begin the history cycle with him for the last time.
We are both looking forward to it.
About the price - I found it last week for only 18.00 - brand new! It was the cheapest I'd seen it and I was so excited! :) I just checked the site and it's back to normal price, but if you keep an eye out, it may get marked down again!

Yes, who knew that OUR generation "learned" so little in school? Well, here's to this time around! Yeah!

Cool, I've been making notes as I go through trying to line it up with TOG so I can use parts of it next time around.

I borrowed mine, too, but didn't get beyond the first couple of chapters, because of "life." THanks for the reminder to get it out again!
