Do you stop all other copywork and dictation once you begin this writing program? And I was planning on continuing on with R & S grammar, just skipping all of the writing exercises. Sound good??

Thanks!

I did. Copywork and dictation is built into CW Aesop.

Your plan sounds good to me.

That is exactly what we do.

I stop the additional copywork when we start CW. R&S spelling has built in dictated sentences with their weekly spelling tests, and I still include those even with CW. Up to the point, I have been doing CW and R&S including all of the writing lessons. Next year when we start R&S grammar 7, I'm considering doing this program over 2 years or I may drop the writing lessons.

I've found that the R&S writing portion covers items that I may not find in CW like how to write a friendly letter. Therefore, I think it's worth our time to do these lessons. I don't always have them write out the lesson, and I sometimes have them just make notecards and give their writing assignment orally.

We use CW aesop and occasionally do copywork from SOTW or our history copybook. Every time I reread TWTM, I'm reminded of how little copywork we actually do.... and that we should be doing more.

We didn't stop dictation and grammar. We're still doing dictation daily for about 10 or 15 minutes and using R&S 3 for grammar just skipping the writing sections. My 3rd grader would have revolted at writing a rough draft by hand, editing it, and then recopying it by hand. We prefer to type the CW lessons. Also, spreading out one lesson over two weeks, I just felt that 1 grammar lesson, 1 dictation lesson, and 1 writing assignment every two weeks was lighter than I was comfortable with because writing is our main core focus this year.

what we do here as well-

R&S has really prepared her for CW, I am considering fading out R&S as we continue in CW, I was worried it would get to repetitious. Any thoughts on that? Will I regret it in the long run?
I like to randomly have dd do other copywork b/c I'm mean:).
