I noticed that everyone seemed pleased with Horizons(just as I am). I posted a question for Horizons users a week or so ago concerning what math did you go onto after Horizons 6. I have one that will complete 6 this year and he will be going into 7th grade...what math do you recommend after Horizons?

We are only in Horizons 3, but my tentative plan is to go to Chalkdust pre-algebra after 6.

I did Saxon 87 third edition this year. We will be going into Jacob's for Algebra next year.

We're in the same boat. My eldest is finishing Horizons 6 this year.

My plans change daily. For now, I plan to go through 6 and then do Life of Fred fractions and decimals for Pre-algebra or maybe even his algebra. Then I plan to jump ship to mid 70 Dolciani texts and do algebra with proofs. I have been hanging out on the high school board and really like what I've read and learned there. This is the kind of math that Myrtle and her husband teach their children. However, I don't see us going as in depth as they do. I just don't have the skills. Now if my dh gets involved that may be different.

I was blessed to find the Dolciani text, teacher editions and solutions manual for just a few dollars each, most on alibris, sometimes yahoo--all the way through pre-calculus. Sometimes her name was misspelled as Colciani instead of Dolciani.

We really love Horizons here too. We won't start Horizons 6 until the summer, so I'm wondering--how much of Horizons 6 is a review of Horizons 5?
