CD with application?

Someone told me ds needs to include a cd with his college applications next year (he is a junior now). Anyone do this? What do you put on it? She said it needed to tell about him (not info like transcript . . . ). Would love anyones experience with this!

If it is a particularly competitive school and you are looking for an edge to difference your son. Some folks come up with creative ideas to make their student stand out in the crowd. However...remember that admissions officers are, for the most part, buried in piles of applications....you don't want to do anything that would potentially add to the work load in a negative way.

What school are we talking about here? That may help us to answer you better.

We sent a DVD to our son's school, but not for admissions, it was for the music dept, by way of audition.

Are you sure they didn't mean a CV? Curricula Vitae? More properly for high school--a resume of sorts?
I can't imagine sending a CD unless it contains a musical audition as pp said.
