Fool that I was, I let my 3yo "comb" my wet hair while I was helping the 8yo with his grammar. Now I have a comb stuck to the side of my head! It is twisted in my hair and I've been trying to get it out for 15 minutes.
I really don't want to cut it out. Surely someone out there with long hair, or with a long haired daughter has been through this before. What in the world can I do?

I've heard that baby oil helps get tangles out of hair. Is there a starting point you can start to unravel the tangle or no? Can you break the comb? Rewash your hair? I really don't know, thjese are just random thoughts I'd panic & have in your situation. lol
OK, I'm not laughing but you will be... once it's out. ;-)
Sorry!

Squirt a bunch of conditioner in there and try to wiggle it out. I'd probably try to do this in the shower with the water running.

I'd slather a ton of baby oil on it before considering cutting it!! can you get a friend to come over, laugh, and help?? Or even an older teen? good luck :-)

Start on one side of the comb and pull out a little bit and then another little bit and keep going until it's all out. Sometimes I'll start on the other side as well.
((hugs)) to you. It's painfula nd your arms will hurt with them being up so long. I think it's sweet you let your 4 yo comb your hair. Not something you'll do again soon though.

I like the conditioner idea too --probably try that first :-)

Ok...once upon a time, I got a hot curling brush stuck in the front of my dear friend's hair.
It was right up front and it was stuck down to her scalp.
My brother took a pair of pliers and broke all the teeth off the brush so we could free about 12 inches of wrapped hair.
It worked, but my poor hot curling brush was done for. My friend never let me "do" her hair again.
Can you cut or break the teeth off the comb?
I would try wetting it also so the hair is as compact as possbile.

It took me 2 hours and I have a sore scalp, but I managed to get my hair out of the comb a few strands at a time. Now I don't have to go out this afternoon in camouflauge head gear. :)

Oh good. I was going to ask you to post a picture before I could offer help, but that would've really only been for my entertainment so I didn't. Um, can we laugh now ;)?
I think you win the Mother of the Day award for letting your dd comb your hair, btw :D.

Spray a detangling solution all over your hair and comb?

This sounds like something that would happen to me. Try to buy yourself 15 min of peace and end up with a 2 hour debacle! I'm so glad you managed to get it out :)
