My ds was dual enrolled in a cc class last year. He was admitted as a sophomore without ACT scores. This spring he must be "readmitted" in order to take a class. We just received his first ACT score (28 composite :001_smile:) which he hopes to improve. Do we "release" this score to the cc even though he plans to retake the test before he applies to the college of his choice?

It certainly won't hurt anything. 28 is a very respectable score.

We had to release dss ACT scores in order to participate in dual enrollment at our local university. DS still took ACT/SATs until spring of his senior year in order to gain the best possible merit scholarships at a different university. That university took his best score and considered it his "entering freshman" score. He did not suffer any penalty for releasing earlier scores. And a 28 will look great for a concurrent student.

With ACT you always have to release each score individually so there is no downside to releasing any score. Other scores will never appear.
