View Full Version : Bake it first, or freeze it now?

I made stuffed cabbage rolls for dinner (we're a bit late with something remotely traditional for St. Patty's Day -- heh) and had tons of extra filling. So, I used up the remainder in some green pepper halves. I did not go to the trouble of blanching the peppers first. And, unlike my stuffed pepper recipe, this filling uses raw meat along with rice and tom. sauce. So, do I cook these pepper halves and then freeze them? Or freeze them now in their very "raw" state?

Freeze them in the raw state. I have done it that way and it worked really well! So, when will you be taking them out to serve? I'll bring wine and dessert!:001_smile:

It works well both ways. Peppers are one of the few veggies that do not need to be blanched before they are frozen.

Sounds Yummy!

I have done this before. Just freeze as is and cook normally after you thaw them.

LegoMom -- you can bring wine and dessert anytime. Who needs a meal? ;)
