We haven't chosen one yet, but are trying to decide. Anyone have any suggestions using the word "rock"? The meaning of our last name is 'a town on a rock in a moor'...and I like the significance of building a strong foundation like a rock...

How can I word that into a name for our homeschool?

Solid Rock Academy
Strong Rock Academy
???

I need suggestions...dd is participating in Kindergarten Graduation for our co-op, and I want to have a name for our school on her diploma. Thanks. :001_smile:

Just looking up different words that mean rock I found Petra and Pierce. I also found Ailean on this page. It is gaelic for rock.

I like Ailean Academy.

Lol, that's pretty much the translation of our SCA group name :) So, how about "Cairn Fell!" Info about the name here: http://www.sca.org.au/herald/camel/2005/07/camel2005_07.shtml

Moor Stone School

School on the Rock

Founding Rock Homeschool

The Rock Mortar Academy (that sounds like it, if your name is what I think it must be to translate that way)

Rock-Moor-School (a play on rock-moor-town)

Stone Words School (a play on Matthew 7:24-27)

Now I have that Sunday School song stuck in my head!

the quote you have in your signature is one of the reasons I named my school what I did. Magnum Opus academy. :-) Maybe you could use that name. I'd share, but if you want the word rock, you could use the greek form Petra or something like that.

of course, it'll probably sound like "Alien Academy" lol!

I still think it looks cool on paper.

I've known homeschoolers to be called aliens, not the most polite but oh well.

I like the name too.
