Are there test prep materials for this test? I have searched but can't seem to find a place that sells these test prep materials. My kids are taking the 4th and 6th grade tests for the first time. They have never been tested and I don't want them overwhelmed when they go to take the test. Any ideas?

BJU sells Better Test Scores by the grade for language arts and math practice. I think these were beneficial for my 4th grader last year, especially since it was the first year we tested.

I have been researching the same type of thing. I have noticed that Spectrum has some test practice books that are for several standard tests.

I also found a site yesterday that has older (some as new as last year) sample tests from several different states. I downloaded a few for some practice. Here is the site if you are interested

I'd skip the spectrum ones... At least a few years ago when we tried them, there were a lot of mistakes - misspellings, answers that didn't match the questions, etc. It wasn't a great experience. But, at educational stores they do sell other brands we have had luck with (sorry I can't think of any off the top of my head! :) ) Kris

www.rocksolidinc.com has Test Ready. I think they are the best test prep books. I tried the Spectrum ones last year because they are less expensive, but I was very disappointed, and will use the Test Ready ones again this year.

Wow! I am really ignorant. I didn't realize I would have to buy books for each subject. This could get expensive.

Here is one to check out.

Scoring High (http://www.debrabell.com/Undefined/test.htm)

1 book is all you need for all subject per grade. Tests for California, Iowa, and Standford.

She homeschooled her children & wrote a book on homeschooling as well.

I have not used this book. I have used something else, but for the life of me I can't find it right now... I will dig (literally) through my stuff and see if I can find it in a couple days. If I do, I will post back here.

Happy Searching. :D

I usually just get the LA and math tests. ;) It gives my dc practice testing and doesn't break the bank.

McGraw Hill Spectrum series puts out test prep books that are geared toward all standardized testing.

Hi,

I've always wondered the same thing. I did some research and this is what I found. Pearson publishes the actual tests. Here is the link for practice tests etc:
http://education.pearsonassessments.com/haiweb/cultures/en-us/productdetail.htm?pid=SAT10C&Community=EA_PreK-12_API_Achievement

In order to determine which test you order for your child's grade here is a link I found for that:

Here are some other helpful websites for test practice also!

Blessings!

We used the Scoring High books to introduce the girls to standardized testing. I found them to be helpful.
