How do you decide which to purchase? Do they frequently put these on sale like this? Help!!!!!

I need the voice of wisdom/experience to help me out, please.

You can register an account, input the titles you are interested in and they will email you when they go on sale. You will also get all the email updates of any general sales that might apply. They rotate the titles on sale, and everything is on sale at least once a year. I wouldn't pay full price until I really had to have something right then, and I'd still be hesitant. I waited three months until they had the last big sale to spend so little on so many titles.

1. Do "I" really want it and will enjoy it myself?
2. Will my dc benefit from the course to help them with homeschool or high school?
3. Can I get it from my library system? How many copies are in the system?
4. Does my dh want it for Christmas? Will he REALLY watch it? If not, will my boys watch it in the future?
5. Do I want/need instant access to the DVD's for home use?
6. Is it a reasonable price? Is it a good value for my money?
7. Does Netflix carry it? (Netflix has algebra 1 and geometry)

I carefully look at the reviews at the TC site and if it doesn't get 5 stars I look at another course if available.

I borrowed several of TC courses from the library before I decided. I was on the fence about The Joy of Science and Physics in Your Life. I borrowed them from the library and felt that I could do without. I will still borrow Joy of Sci. but I don't need the whole course and instant access.

These are the courses I bought yesterday:
Great Authors, 2nd Edition (DVD)
Classics of American Literature (DVD)
Einstein's Relativity and the Quantum Revolution (DVD)
Science of Self (DVD)
Quantum Mechanics (DVD)
London (DVD)

I bought last month:
History of the US
Chemistry
Hitler's Empire
Western Civilization 2
Rise and Fall of British Empire
Art of Reading
How to Become Superstar Student

I have NEVER seen the prices this low! I'm completely satisfied with my purchases.

I need to find a shelf just for our TC courses. :D

Shakespeare's Tragedies
Churchill
History of Hitler's Empire
Great Ideas of Classical Physics
Great Ideas of Philosophy
Classics of American Literature
Understanding the Fundamentals of Music
Superstar Student
Art of Critical Decision Making
High School Level Chemistry

Now, to bring myself to press the purchase button. :)

You're automatically added to their email list. I bought a bundle of 2 high school math courses (Basic Math and Algebra 1) when it was cheaper to buy the pack than it would have been to buy Basic Math by itself (which was the course we wanted). A week later, I got email saying that Superstar Student was on sale really cheap (like $40), so I bought that. Now, I get emails every few weeks or so listing specials. I think I'm slowly going to buy the courses that I think we'll use when I have the extra money and when they're on sale. By the time we're ready for a course, hopefully it'll be here waiting for us.

History of US - $99 w/free shipping
AM. Lit. $99 w/free shipping

Buy over $100 get extra $20 off - making both of these $89/ea

Free shipping was over yesterday. I don't know of another code for free shipping now.

I'm just wondering if at any other time of the year these programs will be cheaper than the $99? I have 1 to 2 years before I need them.

I'd wait. Sometimes they come out with new editions, as they did a couple months after I purchased Chemistry (fortunately, the offered to switch my set when I wrote them).
