I believe there are at least two different publishers for lapbooks to go with the Apologia books - zoology, astronomy, etc. - has anyone used any of them? What did you think?

Comments? Anyone know how the different ones compare?

Thanks!

Linda.

PS - Knowledge Box Central and Live and Learn are the ones I know about - but if there are others, I'd love to hear about them, too!

I'd like to see responses to this as well.

The ones from Live and Learn Press are fabulous! We've been working through the Astronomy one for the past while. I especially like that the minibooks themselves are interesting and varied.. Both my kids and I have gotten frustrated in the past with other lapbooks we have tried that contained 10 minibooks that are fold-in-half, write-everything-you-know-about ______.

I'm not sure if you've seen the samples (http://www.liveandlearnpress.com/viewItems.php?category=18) yet; I believe they're fairly new. They give a nice peek into their Apologia products, but what myself and other ladies keep saying is, "There is MUCH more here than what I expected."

I was initially unsure about adding the Apologia elementary books to our existing science readings, but LNL has made it so easy and fun.. I think we'd have a riot at our house if I announced we weren't doing any more.

HTH a little! :001_smile:

They are both good... I was going to go with and ready to use KB for Astronomy.... but when I saw Live and Learns product... it was a better fit for my 6th grader. More folds, more writing, more questions....

KB has nice folds... she uses varying folds so its not boring... she’s very good about that... live and learn... you do tend to see folds repeated a lot, just with different graphics...

Both can be used in B&W or color.... KB has the option, but L&L comes colored but you can just use black ink toner.

KB has sales all the time on all products... live and learn doesn’t place Apologia on sale.... not that I have seen....

mistakes have been found in both, but corrections are given....

We are almost ready to move into Zoology 1. I have it all printed out and it looks great ( from Live and Learn)

If your kids are younger, you may want to go with KB, or at least look it over... it is a fine product... or if your kids are not sure they like lap books... then KB would be a good one... not as many folds etc...

HTH... boy that seems like a lot of rambling doesn’t it! lol
