I'm not trying to cause any trouble for anyone, but I bought books from her too which never arrived. I contacted her through E-mail with no response. I had paid through Paypal and was forced to open a "did not receive items purchased" complaint. I don't know if they ever were able to contact her, but they did refund my money. Again, don't want any problems, just passing on my experience.

Last I heard from her was on November 2nd, when I was in negotiation with her regarding the purchase of TOG year 1 and Rhetoric books. I have written to her a few times since then, but have not heard back from her.

I need to apologize to all of you...I have been "slack" in my emails, PMs, etc. and I'm sorry. :(
I feel to the need to explain my "slackness" so that you won't think that I'm untrustworthy:
- my MIL broke her arm and required surgery; then was moved into rehab and then our home because she couldn't care for her self
- I suffered a miscarriage
- my cousin was killed in Afghanistan (funeral was in CO)
- said MIL became abusive and we had to have her removed from our home
Needless, to say, I've been overwhelmed...physically and emotionally.
All of this in combination with the fact that I didn't anticipate the "load" of orders that would come in and wasn't prepared to deal with it... and most of these orders came in without shipping information or book titles on them and I just didn't have the "brain power" & stamina to deal with it at the time.
Thank you for understanding...
~Amy

I received 1 PM about a list of books -- I was not able to make time to type the list.
I replied to PM with a request for a list of books you were looking for and I never received a reply...
Haven't had any contact since...

I'll vouch for Amy! Great gal, honest and fair trades...I have both bought and sold with her more than once. Sounds like she has had a lot going on, I hope everything gets worked out for all concerned!
I bought a couple of things from her back in Oct and got everything very quickly and in great shape. I would have been overwhelmed too with all she has going on!

I bought, sold, and traded with Amy in early November. She was timely and curteous with payment, communications, and shipping. I just want to send her a big hug. :grouphug:

I do hope she doesn't leave the board. She has had a very hard time of it lately. Things happen.

This is why it's really important for us to state only facts and not attack anyone personally when something like this happens. Things happen in all of our lives that make it hard to find time to follow through with our sales. But as a buyer, it is scary to send a large amount of money (or at least a lot for your own personal budget!!!) to someone you don't know, and then to not hear back from the seller for over a month. Even in the midst of everything falling apart, taking a few seconds to contact a buyer just to say, "I'll get back to you as soon as I can," will keep that buyer from having to escalate the issue out of concern. I don't think there are many buyers out there who aren't kind and compassionate enough to wait patiently if they only know what is going on. (And Amy, God bless you, and my prayers are with you!!!

It is a shame how the situation turned out. I know if I was the buyer I would be concerned and upset. Communication (as the last post said) would have made everything turn out differently.
But Amy I hope that you are finding strength to persevere through all that has been going on in your life. I will keep you in my prayers! I hope that you decide to overlook the issues and not leave the board.
I believe it is my duty to give further details on this situation.
Amy told me she was mailing my package and did not. She ignored all of my email and PM's. Her reasoning for this was that she did not have the time to respond due to her circumstances. However, she was able to get on the board and make numerous posts on the forum about all kinds of things. You can view this under her profile. If she was under this much stress, how could she find the time to do this but not a couple of seconds to simply explain to me what was going on in her life? Had I just known, we could have worked something out. I even emailed her when I could "see" that she was currently on the board. She continued to ignore me.
It was not until I filed a dispute with Paypal that she contacted me.
I do have compassion for people dealing with problems in their life. I have plently of my own. However, we have a responsibility to others as well. Again, if she had time to discuss things on the forum and peruse the board, she could have certainly taken time to inform me as to what was taking place in her life.
I do want to state that once she admitted never having mailed the book, she offered to mail it again. I explained that I was in need of the book right away. I had also explained this when I made the transaction, 3 weeks ago, and she had no problem with getting it out right away. Under the circumstances, I asked for a refund and she DID honor my request for which I am grateful.
I also want to point out that it is not just me that this has happened to.
I would want to have this information if I were making a purchase from someone. I believe that is what the feedback board is for. I posted here first in an attempt to reach her to resolve this situation.
I am hopeful that things improve in her life very soon.
It is a reminder to all of us to keep in touch with one another. These boards are such a blessing for all of us and we do need to be considerate of one another.
Thanks,
Tammy

How long do you give a seller before contacting paypal? I purchased something 6 weeks ago and it has not arrived. I have emailed her and posted to no avail. With it being the holidays I was allowing for more time but I wanted to know what an acceptable time to wait before contacting paypal.
Thanks

I think you have been more than gracious with how long you have waited.

Paypal has a time limit--you have to contact them within 45 days or it is too late and you can NOT file a claim. :grouphug:
ETA: You can always cancel a claim if the item shows up.

Thanks guys for all the info. I tried to open a claim last night but it says that I cannot because I used the personal option when paying as requested by the seller. The only recommendation was that I try and work something out with the seller. So, if anyone knows Heatherlynn of Texas would you please let her know that I have been trying to reach her for several weeks to no avail. She has not been on the board since the beginning of November and I have no other way of contacting her.
Thank you- Janna
