Ours has had it, it is illustrated and the DC have "looked" it to death, LOL. I can't stand it any more, the front cover is missing, the spine is exposed and is in pitiful condition. So, I'm looking for opinions on a good replacement. I could just get the same one again, but you know- I like to see what others like too.

I also like the American Heritage Student Dictionary. It is odd though - I think it is the heaviest dictionary I have ever handled. It is even heavier than my Webster's Collegiate Dictionary!

We like the AH Student Dictionary, too.
It's heavy because of the glossy paper. It's very dense.

Another vote for the American Heritage Student Dictionary. It was strongly recommended to me by a librarian friend. We like it a lot and it has grown with my kids so far. (My oldest is 10.)
