Dirt. It is raining dirt. Not just dirty water. Our cars look like we went muddin'. Ya know when you drive behind someone on a wet, dirty road, and their tires spray your car w/ dirty mud? That's what is falling from the sky!
Ewwwwwww!

According to the weatherman, it's just dirt that got picked up somewhere. (no volcanoes in TX). nt

Yikes! There were hailstones on the ground when I dropped my dd off for her Brownie troop meeting, but dirt is definitely worse!
Nothing would surprise me at this point. We had 12" of snow a week ago Sunday, by Wednesday, it was ALL gone, and it has done nothing but rain since then. We had 3" just yesterday. Today, I haven't heard, but I'm sure it's been another 2 or so. I think it's suppose to stop raining Friday....Everyone in our house has cabin fever.

They are calling it "the Perfect Storm". It was caused by ash from a very large fire in central Mexico, combined with dirt/dust from West TX, a high pollen count, and post-frontal light rain and high winds. Boy were our cars DIRTY today! :auto:
The car wash people hit the lottery today! I was watching the news and looking at the long lines of people waiting to get their cars washed, and I kept thinking: "Why don't they just go home and use a hose?" :tongue_smilie:

You know it is dry in Texas cuz it rains dirt!
Kinda like Oregon's:
Oregonians don't tan, they rust.
Yuck, what a mess to clean up. Then one thing I like about a hard spring rain is that it usually clears the air from the pollen and dust. It doesn't usually put it back!
When we lived in Pittsburgh, a tire factory had an explosion. When it rained that night, it deposited ash over everything! My white car was black!
