So, I am looking for a math book that can cover multiple age levels and will help my children to learn how math is actually applied in real life. I would like to use it with us all learning together. Does anyone know of a math book like that? I don't want a workbook, I just want...well, I guess a kind of math-in-real-life unit study guide for me, so that I can teach these concepts to them.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You could try Family Math or Math in the Supermarket

Also check out what your library has available.

I don't have a particular book to recommend, but I have found this website to be helpful:

http://www.livingmath.net/

The philosophy might match up with yours, and she lists tons and tons of books by concept/ level.

HTH!
