when it comes to re-sale value? I've thought about pieces of masking table then writing on the tape with permanent marker since the masking tape is typically pretty forgiving when removed. Some of the spines are not wide enough to read writing on though. What is your system?
This year I didn't mark them, but I was only dealing with 1 Core and 2 different level readers at the start of the year.
I now have 5 different level readers and 3 Cores to keep straight. Because of my kids age span it will be like this for quite some time any tips?

I don't know about resale value.... but when I bought a Core, it came with a sheet of colored adhesive paper with "Sonlight Instructors Guide" labels printed on it and lots of blank space. I used a one-hole puncher and punched out a bunch of "holes" and used those as little stickers on the spines of the corresponding books to that Core. I assume each Core will have a different color. The stickers are just a tiny colored dot and don't look bad.
I think I've seen adhesive paper and stickers labeled "removable" at Staples... maybe that would work?

I would use Removable sticker dots, in various colors. You can get them in office suppy stores, with the labels. They come in packages with several colors, so you could color code your books by Core, then write numbers on the dots. Make sure you get the "Removable" kind.
I wouldn't use masking tape. It's only removable for a short period of time. After that, it leaves a residue (sticky at first -- crusty and impossible to remove after a longer period of time).

Do you have a link to what you are talking about, I checked Staples and didn't come up with anything.
