Are they worth it? Also, do I need one pr. child (I'd have 4 students).

For me they have been worth the price because we would end up not doing projects otherwise. Many of the craft books that you can get at the library say that you can do the activities with common household items. Well, those items are not common in my house. :D
I like that everything we need is right there so I don't have to search for necessary items or buy a package of something just so we can use 1 for the project or whatever else it is that prevents me from being organized with projects.

If you want each of your dc to do the projects it would be best to purchase the additional student kits (in your case you would buy the main kit and 3 additional student kits). That will add up, so you may want to have them work on the projects as a group to save some money. If you are organized and like to do crafty projects, you could probably spend a bit of time pulling together some activities on your own and buying the necessary supplies. It would probably be less expensive, but more time consuming (at least in the research and material gathering).

For me the extra money spent on the kits was worth it to save my time and energy for other things.

I completely agree with Deece. And the H and H kits even include the paper towels for clean up :D

I was just looking at their website and I think this may be what I have been looking for to use next year.

In your opinion will this work for these ages 13 year old dd, 8 (9 in Sept.) dd, and a 5 year old ds?

There is such a big age difference and I really want to do something together. We tried MOH this year, but ds was too young and got bored.

opinions please!

I've been looking at this too and interested to know the answer to terrylee's question. I'll have three kids doing Ancient History ages 10, 8 and 5. The five year old is just hanging with us, but I'm thinking she would love the craft part.
