I dreamt that I had a seizure. It's no wonder why I had the dream. My special needs child is epileptic. I took him this morning to have an MRI under general anesthesia. So last night I guess that I had seizures on the brain...so to speak. It was the most real dream that I can remember having. I know it wasn't a real seizure but it kinda felt real. I've never had a seizure before so I don't know what they feel like but I see them all the time in my son. In the dream, I felt my legs stiffen and my back arch. I felt like I was convulsing. It was so bizarre. I do not want to have that dream again.

Anyone else have a dream that seems so real that it's scary?

It shows how much you care about your son. :) It shows that when you watch him handle his issues you feel it in your heart.

I'll bet you're the kind of mom who tries to do everything she can to make him comfortable, before, during and afterward.

It's a good sign, really.

I'm sorry it was so scary, and so real. Sometimes dreams like that really make you catch your breath, don't they? With my own son who has problems, (not seizures) I try to see if I can imagine how he's feeling in order to help him. This might give you a little boost in knowing how to respond to him.

How did the MRI go?

I had a very vivid dream the night before my ultrasound. It was my 3rd child, first ultrasound, and I really wanted a girl as I already had 2 boys. During my dream, I was having one of those newer 3D or 4D ultrasounds. I saw the baby's face and fell in love. The feeling of love was so strong and so overpowering! In the dream the nurse said, "It's a boy!" I didn't care because I was so in love. I then woke up. That afternoon I wasn't surprised to hear the technition tell me that I was having my 3rd boy. The feelings of love, leftover from my dream, covered up most of my disappointment. I feel like it was God giving me advanced warning and an extra measure of love for my now 3yods.

Maybe God was letting you know how your son feels so that you can better comfort him and reassure him during his seizures.

Ah, sweetie, how scary.

I dreamed that I lost my first child before I miscarried. And I dreamed that I "lost" my second pregnancy -- a tiny little embryo -- in the bedcovers. I carried that pregnancy to term, but learned that I had a twin disappear early on.

I have "dreamed" the emotions of my children, and it has only made me more sympathetic and empathetic afterward. And even if it's only my imagination working overtime, I accept these odd little "gifts" with gratitude.

Thanks for the reassurances and understanding. I guess dreaming what a seizure might be like is a gift in a way. I know it wasn't real but it scared the crap out of me at the time. Maybe it has given me a little more insight into what my son endures.

The MRI went well--I guess. I packed my overnight bag expecting to stay. But ds was fine and he was released. We were halfway home when he had a seizure. I wish he had it at the hospital so they could test him then. He's home sleeping in his bed and I'm camping out next to him:sleep:
