I know this was asked once before, but I am curious why some people use vinegar and water? When I mopped my hardwood floors, I use Murphy's oil soap. Should I be using something else?:bigear:

I use vinegar and water. I've heard that Murphy's isn't really good for the floors and that it causes build up. I'm sure there's lots of people that have better info for you than I do, though. I really only use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning because it's cheap and I don't have to worry about chemicals.

I've read that Murphy's Oil is *not* recommended by actual people, especially not by people who refinish floors professionally.

I use Bona (http://www.bonakemi.com/products/specials/WM710013343.htm). I try to dustmop daily (I have a mop head similar to the one on the Bona site), and when I need to actually *clean* the floor, I use Bona. Almost no odor, spray it on and wipe it off. No muss, no fuss, no streaking. Great stuff.

I use vinegar and water.

This is what I do, as well.

Vinegar and water was recommended by the gentleman who refinished our floor this past winter.

I guess you never know what you'll learn on these boards!
