We will be continuing with NEM 2 (Singapore Maths)
English Prep 3 (Galore Park), Shakespeare and poetry memorization
So You really Want To Learn French 2 and 3 (plus other French reading)
Latin Prep 1 and 2 (Galore Park)
More philosophy reading

Math: Saxon Algebra II, Kumon Math, Math Counts
English: Lightning Lit 8, lots of writing, Kumon Reading (finished program), Analytical Grammar Season One, English From Roots Up
History: Modern History, reading, outlining, Teaching Company videos, National History Day research paper, lots of museum visits, Mental Edge 8th Grade Social Studies Review
Science: Physics, Hewitt: Conceptual Physics, Kinetic Books Conceptual Physics tutorials, Mental Edge 8th Grade Science Review, Environmental Science university course.
Latin: Cambridge Latin Book 2, Oxford Latin Book 2, Linguistics Olympiad
Foreign Language: Turkish, online French Essentials semester one
Health: Health I, Florida free textbook, lots of physical education sports
Music: piano and violin lessons at music school
Art: art lessons at art school, published art, sold art, sent in artwork for Scholastic Art & Writing
Religion: family discussions and readings

Halfway through 8th grade now:
-almost done with MUS Pre-Algebra, then going to Chaldust Algebra
-Latin in the Christian Trivium, but previewing Latin Prep right now and wished I'd chosen it instead
-Art of Argument - LOVE IT!
-Government/Literature class at Co-op, with occasional essays thrown in to review last years Co-op CW Diogenes class
-Apologia Physical Science
-Sonlight World History Part 2
-piano, guitar and trumpet (in a homeschool band)
-tennis with Dad
-Bible Quizzing

I should add that instead of Traditional Logic we will continue with the Art of Argument series we are using if they get the next book out in time.

The plans I made at the beginning of the year are different than what we are doing now. Here they are:
Bible - New Testament Bible reading plus SL 7
History/Literature - Sonlight Core 7
Math - Saxon Algebra /12
Science - Apologia Physical Science plus Science Roots (to prep for Biology)
English - Analytical Grammar, Progeny Press Intro to Poetry, and IEW Student Writing Intensive Continuation Course B
Life Skills/Home Ec. - Money Matters for Teens workbook, Keepers at Home club, and I Kissed Dating Goodbye group discussion

Math: Life of Fred Alg. 1 with ALEKS
Grammar: no plan yet (maybe a combination of stuff on my shelves)- any suggestions for a right-brained boy?
History: Mystery of History Vol. 3 (co-op)
Science: Runkles Physical Geography

Rod and Staff 8 and Sentence Composing for Middle School
Runkle Geography(semester 1)
Semester 2 instead of science - split time between drawing and practical home maintenance and repair

Math- Algebra I w/Lial's or something...
HEO Year 8 (History, Bible, Lit, Artists, Composers, etc)
Latin - Lone Pine tutorial, I hope
Science - not sure, she is doing Apologia Bio now
Writing- IEW
Extra Lit Study helps (mostly for me...) - Lightning Lit Shakespeare or Early to Mid 19th
PE -swim 4x weekly
Music - hope to find a piano teacher again
Also - Stewart Grammar, continue using SWR (terrible speller!) and maybe do a formal Logic program (we're doing Fallacy Detective & Teaching Toolbox this year). Wish I could find something great for art for her...

?Lightening Lit 8? (don't know if we will get thru 7)
Thinking Toolbox (unless we get to that this year/summer)
continue with Apples Daily Spelling or switch to MegaWords (she still needs spelling work)

Algebra - Foerster's
Latin - Henle (only one child is doing this; the other does Vocabulary Cartoons)
Writing - Taking a break from grammar this year, and using Put That In Writing (somewhat loosely) for composition (I change the assignments to reflect our history writing)
History - A History of US, with era-appropriate literature, documents, etc., thrown in
Science - Apologia General Science
Logic - We finished Fallacy Detective and Thinking Toolbox, and we're sort of half-heartedly working through Math-a-logic, now. (I wanted to wait until 9th grade to do Traditional Logic)
That's about it. Oldest dd will start Spanish next year, and both will add in a 'formal' physical activity for P.E. credit. They both attend a discipleship group, once a week, and volunteer once a month at our church.

English: Writing - HS Class through ps
We will also be using Jump In soon to hone some paragraph skills.
Vocab - Wordly Wise
Literature - Omnibus 1 and 2 (finishing one/starting other)
Grammar - Analytical Grammar (will start next month)
Spelling - Sequential Spelling and WW words.
History - Omnibus and Journey into Africa
Math - TT Algebra 2
Logic - Introductory Logic and Intermediate Logic (finishing one/starting other)
Science - Apologia Physical Science
Spanish - Class for High School credit
Chess - On a team and takes a class for fun
Health- Total Health
Latin - Various programs.
Bible/Character - Omnibus, listening to The Bible Experience, Youth group, discussion and Awanas.
PE - Swim team practice 5-6 nights per week and random other activities.
Music - Piano
I am sure I forgot something. We also have a few fill in things that we randomly use.

My dd thinks she wants to try out high school, :( so for her last year home I think we will be using -

What we're doing this year for ds in grade 8:
Math: Abeka Algebra 1 (to be done over 2 years)
History: Survey of modern history (Renaissance to the present), using SOTW 3 & 4 as spines, adding in historical fiction and co-op projects.
English: Scholars Online World Lit
Science: Scholars Online Natural Science 1
Art: Artistic Pursuits
French: The Easy French, plus reading the Harry Potter series
Logic: Traditional Logic 1 & 2
