View Full Version : We have no restraint. We are eating our Easter candy now.
My dd and I bought it at the store today and put it in the freezer so we wouldn't be tempted. My ds found it and we've all been eating it the rest of the day. Also, we also cannot make it until Christmas to open our presents. We open them on Christmas eve. I think that is because I need sleep so much that when our dc's were younger I figured it was a way to get some sleep on Christmas day. LOL!

NEVER have bought the Reese's eggs in advance. Now I need to replace them...at the last minute.:tongue_smilie:

See, I knew there had to be a reason that we are always last-minute shoppers. It's because we would eat the candy before we had a chance to put it in the baskets if we had it any earlier than the night before Easter! .

My very favorite Easter candy is the candy-coated malted milk robin's eggs. So far, we've managed to resist the chocolate, but dh and I have downed a bag of those eggs--w/o the dc knowing, lol.

I've already downed more than my fair share of those Mini Eggs. I just can't resist. Especially this year- they came out with them in a Dark chocolate flavour!! YUM
This is why I purchase my Easter candy on the Saturday night before Easter Sunday. No self control! It's just too tempting being home all day with all that candy sitting so close by....

What Easter Candy? :biggrinjester: You mean that stuff I bought but now seems to be missing? Every year we buy our candy at least a couple times before some actually makes it into the baskets.

That's why I make myself wait to buy it until just before Easter. My favorite is Robin's Eggs and they only come out once a year - Easter. I used to go through bags of them. Oh my gosh. I have to run to the store now.
Dd hasn't found it yet, but dh and I have snuck into it already. Oh, well..we're the ones who bought it, right?

Reese's Eggs? Oh no. I so did not need to know that...
I have not shopped for my usual yet--Cadbury eggs, from Costco, in the handy 24 pack. Looks like I will be buying (and eating) much more chocolate than usual this year.

I've been laughing to myself about this thread all day long!
We actually don't do candy at Easter....I'd never tell the kids, but one of the reasons why is because I'd eat all of it before hand! Reeses easter eggs are even better than peanut butter cups! :)

Our Meijer has buy two bags, get two bags free of Hershy's brands. I got two bags of Reeces Eggs and to bags of Rolos last night. They are for our church for Sunday, I hope I can resist, I might need to get some more. It ended up being four bags of candy for $5.30 with tax.

LOL! We always have a picnic / Easter egg hunt at our church on Palm Sunday so the girls nabbed tons of candy yesterday. Much of it has already been eaten. :D
That's really the only candy we do at Easter, so we'll have all that out of our systems (literally!) by the time Easter rolls around.
We do hunt eggs here at home on Easter weekend, but they are real eggs that the kids dye so we don't have the problem of filling them with goodies. And we don't do the Easter bunny; we have nothing against the Easter bunny, mind you, we just have never done that. :D

:toetap05:Well that is just a sad commentary on the state of things today. Bad mother. How *could* you deprive those poor, poor children of their Easter morning surprise? How could you deprive them of that marvelous sugar rush first thing on a bright, sunny spring morning? For shame......

(Whose own son just took every last one of the leftover goodie bags from his b-day party last week and ate every bag of snack mix and snowball out of them ALL in one short sitting...... Now why didn't *I* think of that? Oh well, off to raid the Easter candy.....)
You've all made me feel so much better. I didn't know you could make a second trip to the store for more. Looks like trip # 2 will be happening soon!

I will not eat the Easter candy...l will not eat the Easter candy...I will not eat the Easter candy.
Well, I should just have a taste because, you know, something could be wrong, like, maybe they could be stale or poisoned or something! So it's really in the best interest of my children that I need to taste several in every bag, some of every color and design. Just in case. You never know.
(Hopefully there'll be some left for them by the time Easter gets here!)

I had to do that very thing just today. Why? Because a couple of nights ago I devoured an entire chocolate bunny. By myself. And that left four. But I have five boys. Now I have five bunnies again, too. The local shop where they're made is a mere five minute drive away, so...ask me tomorrow how many bunnies are left.;)
