I just found this blog this week, and love it. I thought my virtual friends here would appreciate this recent post about teaching science. She brings up Rosalind Franklin (of X-ray diagrams and tangental DNA fame) and quotes Feynman and Einstein. Enjoy!

A very interesting post. I also enjoyed her post from the previous week concerning facial movements associated with various languages.

Thanks for sharing, Jenn!

Very nice. I read it aloud to my son. His reaction: "Ok, so nothing remotely close to something I didn't already know. I suppose it was good to check, though." Which leaves me wondering if he was listening, or if I have been fairly successful. Now I feel guilty about making him sit down with his book instead of letting him go out and whistle for crows. I still say that it is really, really hard to find a balance between teaching them things like how to write a proper lab report and what happens during digestion, and teaching them to be scientists. Grrr...
