I can't seem to decide which I like more. I like them both, but there is no way I can do both. Is there a way I can do this without it being totally overwhelming? Any suggestions?

Just wanting to clarify ... is AO in this case Ambleside Online (as opposed to Alpha Omega)?

Kareni

I should have made that clearer. I am referring to Ambleside Online not Alpha Omega.

Thanks.

Well....I would say I am very eclectic but I do pull a lot from AO and some from TWTM. (And, Classical Writing and LCC and )

It can be done.:001_smile: The hardest part is dealing with the history rotations. You really have to let go of one or the other. AO follows roughly a 6year rotation (in the HEO years of 7-12) and TWTM follows 3 four year rotations. Choose a rotation that works for you and then arrange the books accordingly. As my older dd gets older I am leaning more towards a classical slant (although I do still struggle with this) than purely CM. For example, I just don't think I can teach upper level writing based purely on narrations and a couple of writing guides. I needed a program so we use Classical Writing. For the great books I also want to incorporate The Well-Educated Mind and also SWB's ideas for managing the great books as she describes in TWTM.

Yes. I have for many years. This year, life won't let me...as a matter of fact, this year most everything is on hold except for bare bones. I hate these years...But back to your question...YES, AO is compatible with WTM. You need to decide where to pick and choose...which books to eliminate or read through a bit faster...and then make a schedule...I then plug into the schedule with my cut and paste feature...and print.

I make a checklist for daily subjects...and book schedule for books that a re narrated either orally or in writing.

The AO schedules are very helpful in setting it all up.
