I want my dd to add in a 1-semester elective, and she has plenty of time to do it, but the poor girl can't seem to come up with anything worthwhile.
So I'm thinking Health might be a good idea. What do you like, and why? What DON'T you like, and why? I've never been a BJU/Abeka type person, but I seem to remember that one of those (or similar) looked good. I'm open to any suggestions though!
(And maybe next time, she'll be more motivated to choose her own class?)

Hey Kristine! I wanted to send you a wave! :seeya: As far as electives, have you considered these: art appreciation or technique, foreign language like a Latin/Greek root study, some practical skills like Home Economics or Keepers of the Faith projects, or a Biblical study on a particular book? Starting Points is wonderful for a worldview course, but would take longer than a semester. My oldest dd used Total Health independently, and said she liked it. Blessings~

I will second Total Health by Susan Boe. Here it is at CBD http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=312250#curr. Cathy Duffy has it as one of her Top 100 in her book. We are only on Chapter 3, but really like it so far.
Here are a couple of threads on it:

I'm not normally an Abeka person, but I use it - and really like it - for health (without their Love, S_x and Dating book as that is too strict for us). The curriculum itself is very thorough and taught from a Christian perspective - as well as easy to use.
