starring Armand Assante, it was made in 1997. Would it be okay for my 11 and 13 year olds to watch? I can't find the Kirk Douglas version anywhere.

I haven't seen it, so can't comment, but here is a link to the reviews of it on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/review/R14GAU0HAMC2BC). (I always check out the one-star reviews to get an idea of worst-case scenario.)

I liked the movie. It was visually beautiful. I very much liked the casting of both Odysseus and Penelope. There were some scenes of sensuality in the movie -- I did not have my 5th grader watch those, but another Christian mom I know had no problem with the scenes. Hermes was a little too...flaming for my tastes.

I think the movie was filmed on location in the Greek islands. The scenes of Ithaca especially had a wild and primitive look that was probably true to how people lived back then.

I thought it was just "okay"..........I thought it was a little overacted and dragged along in parts. All that aside I think it would be fine to watch........and frankly I can't thing of any other alternatives.

The sensuality I'm trying to remember............I don't remember it being over the top (I usually remember that kind of thing)
