When you buy TOG, my friend said you get a spreadsheet with all of the book recommendations listed. Are these books on the list the same ones you have the option of buying from TOG? After reading a previous thread I found the books on the TOG Bookshelf...I'm just curious if these are the same (exact) books that are listed on the spreadsheet.

They're doing away with the spreadsheet. It contains both the books on the bookshelf (primary readings) and the supplemental readings, most of which are not on the bookshelf.

with regard to "supplemental"? Is this the books listed under Literature, History Core, or History In-depth?

I see you have a five yo. Can you go to my thread and answer my questions about using it with a 1st grade non-reader? It's on the second page already.

Thanks!

The primary reading page, or primary resources, is the left page of the sample reading assignments download. It includes all the readings needed to be able to complete the weekly assignments. On the right page of the download you can find the supplemental readings, aka alternate or extra resources. These are not necessary, they are just suggestions in case you want to change a selection for whatever reason. I usually add in the textbook readings.

All I'm seeing is the sample weeks downloads....Are you talking about the page in each week's sample download or is there a full reading list somewhere?

Each week that can be downloaded has separate downloads for all the different components. Here is Year 2, week 21 (http://www.tapestryofgrace.com/newworld/21.htm). Underneath the gray bar, on the left, are downloads titled Threads, Reading Assignments, Overview, Writing, Student Activity, Pageant of Philosophy, and Teacher's Notes. Download the Reading Assignments page to see what I was communicating above.
