Have you all seen this?

Put in a math problem, and it will generally figure out what you mean and give you the answer for it.

Here is SheWhoWait's problem from this morning:

x^2-820x+44800=0

Plug it into WolframAlpha and see what you get.

Here's one that factors a little more nicely:

8x^2-24x-1440

This could help when we use old math books with no teacher guides or solution manuals.

Dee,

I have been using various online graphers and calculators and this is the most straightforward, all-in-one-place, beautiful thing I have seen. I had heard about this but forgot to investigate the website.

I'm working through a small publisher precalc book which is riddled with typos in the key (no solutions manual available). This couldn't have come at a better time.

You made my day,

Janice

That is one thing that I use it for regularly. If I can't get an answer that matches the answer key, I have something to check against.
