OK, that's actually a misnomer...I've actually been having evening sickness. Three times during the past week I've thrown up right before supper. Each time has been just a little bit of my lunch (sorry, TMI). It hasn't been that bad, other than the sore throat that follows. I have no idea what to use to sooth the throat. Absolutely nothing appeals to me. This would be the perfect time to insist on ice cream, but I don't want it. Any other ideas?

There are a lot of different flavors to try, including peppermint which is know to sooth a savage tummy.
I get a sore mouth from citrus juices so I chew a tums and swish it around my mouth. It sooths my mouth nicely.

It was the only thing that worked with #5 -- it took care of almost everything --the urpiness, the throat, the nausea.
HTH and hugs!!!

Thank you, both! Fortunately, I haven't had any more bouts to try out your suggestions. I usually start the Tums at about 14 wks when the heartburn kicks in. Maybe I should go get some now. With my last pregnancy I resorted to carrying around a bottle of Mylanta. I felt like a wino the way I snuck around corners to take a swig right out of the bottle.
You know what I want? I want one of those machines that Mrs. Jetson had. She could walk up to it, tell it what she wanted for dinner and BAM! There it was. The food that I actually want to eat, I really don't want to cook for myself. It wouldn't do any good for anyone else to cook it for me, because I would probably change my mind before it was ready. I want a Mrs. Jetson machine.

Ginger tea is good--unsweetened is best if you can stand the strong taste.

You might just be hungry. I know that I tend to get more nauseous when I get nearer to a meal time. I'm trying to eat every 2 hours to avoid feeling like a total wreck of a mess all the time.

Try eating partway through the afternoon so the stomach acid has something to act on instead of rising up in revolt.
Papaya enzymes, which often come in a chewable and are available at Wal-Mart and similar stores, are excellent at helping your body's digestive system work properly.
Antacids are great once in a while, but continual use can convince your body that it needs to produce even more stomach acid and put you in a worse position.

You poor thing! It is so terrible going through this.
Ginger in any form really helps the nausea. Perhaps you could chew crystallised ginger pieces. You won't like the idea of them but as soon as you chew the ginger you will find some relief.
If you are lucky enough to feel okay some parts of the day, drink plenty of hot fruit tea, and eat as well as you can manage to keep your blood-sugar levels as good as you can manage. Eat little and often when you are queasy, savoury biscuits and small cold snacks.
Take it easy and don't expect too much of yourself.
I agree that it is best to leave the anti-acid tablets for now if you possibly can.
All the best!
