I found a copy of "Useful Science, Book 2" just sitting there on the shelf! It's a wonderful little science book written in 1936, in a very CM style that covers a LOT of science, with experiments. I was so excited to find it! I'm going to use it for next year. It's in excellent condition, too. So, there ya go. Science for a buck! LOL

I love it when this happens! I have found a couple of harder to find books at our local library sale for $1.50. I was so excited; however, only people on this board can truly understand that moment.

You're so right. I was trying to explain my love for used books to someone and I finally said, "It's like crack to me." They finally got it. *wry grin*
I found Drawing with Children and Singapore's 2A textbook both for $1 at our Salvation Army and I was so excited and my dh was like, yeah, so what? I love when you find what you need for cheap!!!
I found 'ANother Celebrated Dancing Bear' at half price books for $3.98. (FIAR, starts at $12 on Amazon). DH said, why did you spend $4 on a used book about a dancing bear???? >sigh< After I explained it to him, he did a good job of faking glee.

Good for you! I love the older science books I've found. They are so much more straightforward and common sense. Hope you have fun with it,

A few weeks ago I found 2 out of print books I needed for MFWK (The Elephant Who Couldn't Forget AND The Ant and The Elephant) at 33 cents a piece. I also found TheMystery of the Roman Ransom (okay, so not the worlds biggest "find", but I needed the book!). Today I found 2 Kingfisher Ency. of Questions and Anwers in new condition (Earth/Space and Animals/Plants/Human Body) for 33 cents a piece. Last was this Childcraft Secrets of the Past book that looked very interesting. Same price. I love my Goodwill for books but the furniture prices are like dept. stores! Crazy! Just wanted to get in on the "guess what I found" thread! :D
