includes a compilation of "step 1-3 readers" or "begginning to read" series or "I can read" series?? I am looking for a big book that includes many of these stories for my newly reading ds. It would be neat to have them all in one book or lots of them. He just got done the Biscuit storybook collection and it was PERFECT for him. He also did the "Dick and Jane " collection book. I need something similiar.
THanks!!

I've seen them at Barnes and Noble or Books a Million. They are in the same section. I think the ones I saw had hard covers.

I know Usborne has some books like that We have a book called " Easy Words to Read : Ted and Friends " and it contains 4 short beginning to read stories . I believe there are other Big Books like this in the series too . Christian Liberty's Meeting New Friends book has lots of short stories that begin simply and move up in level . We've enjoyed that book , and Christian Light's book I Can Read , I Wonder books have simple , down to earth stories to read too .

We used a book called:
Ready...Set...Read...
this year. I believe the editor is Joanna Cole. (not sure though)
It is included in Living Books Curriculum for grade two for reading fluency. You can find at at Amazon, etc.

It is not a "big" book- but it does contain many interesting books for new readers. My sons LOVED it. It also includes some poetry.

You might want to check it out.

Hope this helps,
Rebecca

There are Little Critter collections by Mercer Meyer that are like that- all of the stories together in a hardcover book.

We got this one from Barnes and Noble recently, which is three Danny and the Dinosaur stories(from the I Can Read series) together in one hardcover volume.

There are also the Dragon stories by Dave Pilkey, we have one book that has a bunch of the stories in it. I would consider those an easy reading level, but they are a step or two beyond Biscuit and Dick and Jane.

Here's a link to one story, I couldn't find the collection:
