My youngest dd will be 4 in June. I think she is already behaving like one. I had totally forgotten how sassy and demanding that age can be! She already has the vocabulary of a much older child, but up till now it was cute. For the first time (and hopefully last time) she was angry with me and said (screamed) "You are the meanest and stupidest mommy!" And then later to me and her dad, "You are both the meanest people ever!!!!"
She stomped off. Later she did return and said sorry and cuddled with me. This is the same girl who started to dance and sing "Fabulous" from HSMII in the middle of the restaurant. (My friend calls her a diva.)
I have a very, very hard time, not laughing my head off with this kid, when I should be correcting her. Well, at least my patience finally kicked in! (6 years ago I would have been crying!!!)

They are so fun at this age.

Potty trained (yipee!) and can feed themselves (yipee!) and can do so much themselves, and yet still so very, very, young. The world is still new and full of fun things to try.

And, dagnabit, they are funny! :D

Oh, wow, yes!

I can spot a 4 year old anywhere. They're big enough, and have a large enough vocabulary (overnight) that you expect them to gain the understanding, and have the patience and self-control to match (also, we expect it overnight.)

They've got the tools, but not the skills to use them! :)

Loosey-Goosey, uninhibited, conversational (without filters) and totally unaware of social cues.

Oh man we are so right there with you!

My son just turned four, and he actually has matured a bit since his birthday. The months between 3 1/2 and 4 were the WORST!! Not that he is easy to deal with even now, but he does seem to be settling down a bit. I am hoping things continue to get better around here.
