the local ps doesn't "accept you with open arms"? Our school won't give me a definitive answer. Do testing centers administer them? Wow...... if I have to pay for a testing center in addition to the course and the text book:ack2:

They are very helpful and will give you information on homeschool-friendly test sites (schools) closest to you. When I called I ended up with a list of about 7 districts, complete with phone numbers and reference persons, all within an hour of our home. Our first try was the closest and they were very accommodating.

You do have to pay for the AP test fee no matter where you test. I called local public and private schools beginning with the closest and going further out from there.

We were fortunate to have accomodating public and private schools for AP and PSAT.

Yes, I understand that there will be an AP fee, but I'm assuming that the testing centers will
charge a testing fee as well?

I've had friends take AP tests at a local private school, simply because that student was more comfortable in that setting. Perhaps you can find a friendly private school in the area?

I agree with the above posters. Our local hs was hard to deal with, so I looked at the next-closest. What an amazing difference! The slightly farther high school was excellent to deal with.

Make several calls and drop all schools from your list that don't return your calls right away, seem to have an "attitude," or don't give you informed-sounding answers. APs are stressful enough without having to deal with a surly or incompetent guidance office.
