Where are all the blasted knives????

*deep breath in* So, it's my night to cook at the fire station and I can't find any sharp knives with which to slice onions or meat. There are, however, no fewer than 4 pizza cutters and 3 ice cream scoops. Care to guess what foods are served most often? So, in my world today, "thinly sliced" will translate to "thick enough so that the fingers are not cut whilst using a dull knife". And while I'm on the subject, where are the measuring spoons? Huh? They were here the last time I had to cook.

Oh, and for my PSA....after tenderizing your meat, but before cutting it into slices, take a quick second and remove the wax paper. It'll save time in the long run.

And I am a total wreck when I can't find things I need when I need them. Hope you're handling that much better than I do. :D

They're at IKEA. At least mine were. I HAD no sharp knives!

Hope you managed to get through it without chopped fingers!

. I HAD no sharp knives!

I didn't either...until Christmas. My sister felt terribly sorry for me and gave me a beautiful, SHARP set of knives. Wow! What a difference!

Yes, thank you, dinner was a rousing success. And no fingers were lost or otherwise injured in the process. The measuring spoons turned out to be in a cabinet in the bay next to whatever lubricant is used for the generator on the fire engine. Thank goodness I don't have to cook for 6 more shifts (24 days)!! When I mentioned the problem of dull knives to the fire Lt, he just shrugged. I suppose one doesn't really need sharp knives as long as the ice cream scoops work.;)
