Hi, I'm using Level C with my daughter and I have a couple of questions about how they teach multiplication. Thus far it is teaching multiplication by skip counting.
For those that have gone beyond C, I'm wondering if this way of teaching continues. Does it ever get into drilling 2*6=12, 2*7=14, 2*8=16 etc. If not, how do they make that connection?
Thanks,
Julie

Not sure what RS does in the future, but we're in C right now & they have started drilling the tables on the weekly review sheets as well as in the daily review.

Yes, you're going to make that explicit connection, both with drill sheets and in the instruction. Are you taking care to do the warm-ups? Don't skip those, as that's sometimes where it occurs. For instance she'll have you do the skip counting, writing it on the board, then you'll ask what 8X4 is, etc. Or you'll do it the opposite direction, pointing to the number and having them say the multiplication fact. So yes, you'll definitely make the connection.

We are still in C and we are doing multiplication drill sheet regularly now.
