How much soup should I bring (pasta e fagioli) to a family with 2 adults and 4 kids (2, 5, 11,13). The kids might not like it anyway (it is a little spicy). I didn't tell them I was bringing dinner. I was just going to drop it off with some homemade bread and maybe dessert (maybe for lunch). I don't know how much to send or what to put it in. Thanks for your help. (They might want to freeze it for later use).

I bet if you bring one full recipe of the soup (about 1 lb of sausage or ground beef, a few cans of beans and about 1/2 pound of pasta or thereabouts???) they will have plenty. Especially with a nice loaf of bread. Sounds delicious and how sweet of you to help out!
When I bring soup to someone, I usually bring it in my own pot then transfer it to the family's pot right away. Then they don't have to worry about getting any dishes back to me.

That sounds delicious! I would prepare enough for 2 servings each. (12 servings) Chances are that the younger kids won't eat as much as the adults, so there should be enough to comfortably feed them all and maybe a little left over.

:iagree:
Excellent idea about transferring it immediately.
