to help kids work on techniques at home? My girls need some help with how to use their bodies during interpretive speeches and storytelling, and I don't know how to explain to them what it is they need. :tongue_smilie:

...what ages are your girls?

And would a book do, or does it have to be a video?

My son has enjoyed a book called "Break a Leg" but it's been a while since *I* looked through it :-)

My girls are 15 (almost--only 2 weeks away--gasp) and 13 and 3, but the 3 yo has all the drama down pat and doesn't need a stitch of help. :001_tt2:

Book...video...website--it's all appreciated.

Actually 4-H has a great series of books on drama for all ages. They are workbook style and have lots of great activities, instruction and practicing techniques. There are 4-5 books and they are only about $2-3 each. You don't have to be in 4-H to order these, just go to your local Agriculture office or 4-H office (if its a separate entity) or you can order online.

Hey, thanks! And thanks to Jill and Peek, too. We will be digging in to some of these resources. As they go further in their competitions, I see more and more kids that seem to really know how to use their whole bodies to communicate a character and how to block a piece. The girlies want to kick it up a notch and stay competitive!
