Anyone here used this program? Have you attended a workshop that teaches the 26 exercises or read the book? Was it beneficial for your child? I'm looking for help for a child with APD. Thanks...Debbie

I haven't gone to a workshop. I bought the Brain Gym teacher's edition which explains the exercises. If you do a search on youtube you can also see some of the exercises in action.

The exercises are easy to insert into the school day. The teacher's ed. gives good advice about when to do the various exercises and why. (For example, my dd does "lazy 8's" as a warm up for handwriting.) There are some like "owl" and "elephant 8's" that also help me with tension in my neck. I think anyone could benefit from Brain Gym, not just kids with special needs.

(P.S. I've watched the videos on youtube by "dorotheaLiveandlearn" if you want to do a search for her. She's a Brain Gym instructor. There are quite a few other Brain Gym videos but some won't be in English.)

I know about 3 or 4 activities that an OT taught me. They are easy to incorporate and they do help. I would love to go to a workshop but have not had the money. Now that I know some are on youtube I plan on watching them.

My DD6's used this extensively in therapy and are doing really well now. I only learned what was combined into my portion of the home program but they went to therapy twice a week for years. I would highly recommend any of it you can incorporate.
