I have a number of questions about SWB's History of the World series:
Are there any publication dates for the following volumes?
Could you use the books as a rhetoric stage history curriculum?
Do they cover more than SOTW? More detail?
Are there lots of maps and other pictures?
Will the series finish at the end of the 20th century?
Thanks!
I have the History of the Ancient World.I plan on having my children read it when they reach high school age.It has many maps, time lines, some pictures. It is more in depth than SOTW but doesn't (and wasn't meant to) cover all of history in detail.I thought it did a nice job of hitting all the high points. What it really did for me though, was show exactly how many different things were happening at the same time in so many parts of the world. When I learned history in school,I learned about the Egyptians first, and then the Greeks, and so on, but I never realized that more than one great civilization existed at the same time as others.

I agree. I think this makes for great high school reading. I know some who are using it as a read aloud with their logic stage students, too. I do hope we see the rest of the series before I need it!

Thank you!
I think this will be my reading for next year (we'll be in the Ancient times) and for the kids later on.
