Does such a book exist? My non-math daughter is in Algebra 1 and is getting stuck on some topics. I am good with math, but sometimes I can't explain in terms for her to understand. (My mind operates in technical terms and hers is in an artistic world.) I would like to have a good book that has the concepts of Algebra and higher on hand to refer to. This morning I went online and found some extra problems and sit with her through the rough spots working through the problems with her. That is always an option, but sometimes I just want to pull a book off the shelf.
Thanks for any helps,
Lisa

I grab Saxon a lot for reference (the books have clear explanations and examples). And also Engineering Mathematics by Stroud is like having all the Saxon books (and more) compressed into one handy volume. :)

Good Morning!
Have you seen the handbooks by Great Source? They are the folks who put out Writer's Inc, Write for College, etc. They also have handbooks for math at various levels - you might want to look at Algebra To Go. I am not sure if that covers advanced algebra concepts, but it would be excellent for where your daughter is now.
Hope this helps!
Blessings,
April

Try khan academy (http://www.khanacademy.org/) ! It is great video instruction on all math topics and it's totally free!

So far we're only at Algebra II level though. It's had almost everything we've needed so far and is handier than turning on the internet.
