An Extraordinary Life, An Electric Mind?
Is it worth purchasing, or would you recommend check-out from the library or Netflix rental?
Also, is any of the content inappropriate for a 9yo boy? I recall some racy trailers for a History Channel show on Ben, so I wonder if any thing of that sort is included in the PBS film.

I'm not sure if it's the same film, but we watched the PBS American Experience film called Benjamin Franklin. We enjoyed it very much. I say "we" because dh and I enjoyed it. I think we lost the kids about half way through. :tongue_smilie:

Crissy,
I am linking the one we watched last week. I don't think it was the same one you are asking about, but I want to put a plug in for it. We thought it was very informative and entertaining!

PBS Ben Franklin (http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Benjamin_Franklin/60028865?trkid=64596)

Also, along the same lines (and using the some of the same actors) the series call Liberty! The American Revolution from Netflix is absolutely wonderful. We are on disc 3 now and just loving it.

You know, if you poke around the pbs.org website, you might very well find some teaching materials for the film. It's amazing what's available to tie in to many PBS shows.

Oooh, I will be back later to slap some rep on you! (I'm plumb outta rep right now)

I went and typed in the name of the series we are working through right now and you are right! Eureka! Good stuff, including an online game to play!! We will use this on Monday!

Ah, you're welcome!

Do you know that they have all the History of US (Hakim) episodes with lessons? At least, they used to.

That's the one I'm looking for, Kelli. http://bestsmileys.com/textinbubble2/15.gif
The Liberty! series sounds like just the thing for our upcoming studies. I'll add them to my Netflix queue. Don't you love movies by mail! :D
